Lunch in Ancient Rome

Picking the hottest day of our trip to do a walking tour of Ancient Rome might not have been the best idea. Being herded like cattle from site to site trying to snap a good picture while also avoiding the touch of the sweaty tourist next to you is not ideal. Although we were in awe of the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Trevi Fountain the mere experience of walking for hours made us find ourselves hungry and tired. As we walked back toward the monument of Vittorio Emmanuel we found the most perfect restaurant to sit, rest, and of course eat great Roman food. I ordered a insalata mista and antipasta platter. Colin of course had prosciutto pizza and we shared a bottle of wine. The ambiance of the restaurant helped us relax and appreciate all that we had seen that day. Shaded under a blanket of vines kept the restaurant cool while also letting us eat outdoors. After our experience we were refueled and ready to continue our journey visiting all the places where Caesar walked!
